The Cowan Imaging Group has strived to incorporate leading edge technology in the supply of the products they offer to the market. Our company has assembled the largest complement of screen print, digital print and Computer Cut equipment in Western Canada. We have invested over $4M in capital assets to provide you, the customer, with the optimal supply of quality printed and converted products. Our goal is to continue with the philosophy of Quality in means Quality out when it comes to the products we supply.

• Valued at over $1 million, Cowan owns and operates a Stolle, 6-colour in line screen press capable of producing 4 foot by 6 foot images at process speeds of 240 to 420 finished sheets per hour.
• In addition, Cowan owns and operates 9 other screen presses of varying sizes capable of very small production runs to large 4-colour process and CMYK images of up to 12 feet. These presses run on UV curable inks and/or heat curable solvent inks giving us versatility in the manufacture of products based on application of use.
• In our digital printing division, we own and operate a HP Scitex TURBOjet TJ8300, which has quadrupled our output capacity of paper billboards and TSA's. This machine prints with drum technology, 6 colour, and will produce a 200 sq ft paper billboard in less than 12 minutes, and a 48-inch by 71-inch transit advertisement in less than 3 minutes.
• We have just added to our line up of digital print equipment with the acquisition of 2 HP Scitex XL1500 large format 8-colour presses that will print up to 16' 8" wide format in continuous lengths exceeding 100 feet. These presses are used for billboard paper production, large front lit and backlit vinyl flex materials, wide format mesh banner fabrics, scrim, and premium vehicle grade vinyls, multiple rolls simultaneously.
• In addition, we own and operate 3 HP 9000 high resolution solvent based digital presses which produce high quality wall and vehicle murals, outdoor signage, and trade show panels, as well as a HP 6100 super high resolution pigment ink based digital press for indoor photo quality signage and point of purchase materials. We also have full lamination capability for image enhancement and protection in both our digital and screen divisions.
• Cowan has 6 die cutting machines in its Edmonton production facility, as well as 2 shear cutting machines and 1 air cutting table. This enables us to cut pre and post production materials to any custom size and shape in the confines of our quality and safety control procedures. Additionally we have the equipment, tools and trades people in house to custom manufacture our own dies, which allows us to kiss-cut decals, and build decals and graphics to custom shapes.
• Cowan has a full arsenal of Computer Cut graphics equipment for self adhesive lettering and images ranging from plotters to full flatbed technology. We have just added a large format Zund flatbed plotter to our cutting equipment that will handle most rigid substrates. Additionally we have 2 pieces of film production equipment that are utilized to produce negatives for 4-colour process that are then used for burning press ready screens.
• Full in house Pre-Press Art department running on the most current Apple and Windows hardware configurations. We operate the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark Xpress, with full PDF workflow, as well as many other creative formats. We employ qualified graphic artists and get involved in a considerable amount of logo, sign and banner design and layout.
• Cowan Imaging employs over 100 qualified people in our Alberta facilities, and we run 2 scheduled production shifts per day in each of our screen and digital production plants.
